Print Techniques
Take your print up a notch with specialised finishing techniques
Looking for print with a difference? We’re pleased to offer a range of impressive print techniques, including specialist inks, foiling, spot UV, unique binding and more. These print techniques can be applied to the majority of our products to produce creative print that makes an impact.
Foil Blocking
A shiny, decorative finish added to designs and text by heat-pressing metallic or pigmented foil onto paper, adding a touch of luxury.
Metallic Ink
Ink containing metallic particles gives printed materials a shiny, reflective quality, adding a luxurious and eye-catching effect.
White Ink
A versatile technique best applied to dark or transparent substrates to enhance contrast and add a unique look to print.
Pantone Spot Colours
The use of pre-mixed inks from the Pantone Matching System guarantees your print always displays accurate and consistent colours to maintain brand identity.
Fluorescent Inks
Bright, neon inks that glow under UV light, making printed materials highly visible and attention-grabbing in low-light conditions.
Spot UV
A glossy coating applied to specific areas of a print, creating contrast and highlighting important elements with a shiny finish. Subtle but makes a big impact.
Embossing & Debossing
Pressing designs into paper to create raised (embossed) or recessed (debossed) areas, adding texture and dimension to prints. Perfect for producing tactile products.
Gloss Lamination
A shiny, protective film applied to printed surfaces, enhancing colours and providing durability against scratches and moisture.
Matt Lamination
A non-glossy, protective film that gives a smooth, sophisticated finish to prints, reducing glare and enhancing readability while making the product more durable.
Soft Touch Lamination
A velvety, matte finish that adds a luxurious, tactile quality to printed materials, enhancing the sensory experience while making the product more durable.
Case Binding
A durable bookbinding method where pages are sewn and glued into a hard cover, ideal for high-quality, long-lasting books.
Lay Flat Binding
Allowing books to open flat without losing imagery into the gusset of the spine, improving usability for presentations, cookbooks, and photo albums.
PUR Binding
Strong, flexible adhesive square back binding for books, providing superior durability and allowing pages to lay flatter. Ideal for larger pagination products.
Saddle Stitching
Binding method where pages are folded and stapled along the spine, suitable for booklets, brochures, and magazines.
Singer Sewn Binding
Decorative stitching along the spine using thread, adding an artisanal touch to notebooks, journals, and limited-edition books.
Screw Binding
Pages are held together with screws or posts, allowing easy updates and replacements, commonly used for portfolios and manuals.
Wiro Binding
Pages are punched and held together with a wire coil, allowing them to lie flat when open, ideal for calendars and notebooks.
Coloured Staples
Staples in various colours add a decorative or branded touch to saddle-stitched documents, enhancing their visual appeal
Tripple Stitch Spine
A robust binding method with three stitches along the spine, offering added strength and a unique visual element.
Duplex & Triplex
Layering two (duplex) or three (triplex) sheets of paper for added thickness and strength, often used with different colours or textures for each layer. It is possible to glue multi layers if required.
Die Cutting
A shaped blade cuts paper into custom shapes, enhancing design flexibility. Great for adding unique visuals and creating bespoke shaped print.
Kiss Cutting
Lightly cutting through the top layer of adhesive material without cutting the backing paper, commonly used for stickers and labels.
CAD Cutting
Precision cutting technology for intricate designs on various materials, enhancing the quality and detail of printed products.
Folding
Creating folds in paper to achieve different formats and functionalities, essential for brochures, leaflets/flyers, and greeting cards.
Personalisation, Variable Data & Numbering
Adding unique details like names or sequential numbers to prints, enhancing customisation and tracking for invitations, tickets, and certificates.
