Plastic Free July

Plastic Free July

05th Jul 2021

Did you know that this month is also known as Plastic Free July? A global movement helping millions of people become part of the solution to plastic pollution – resulting in cleaner streets, oceans, and communities. As an eco-friendly business, we of course do everything we can to ensure we are a plastic free business, from sourcing sustainable materials to having a Zero Landfill Policy in place, we aim to ensure that we are as environmentally-friendly as possible.

Plastic Free Print

Everything we print is produced sustainably, using only FSC or recycled stocks. We can even produce print on paper made from recycled coffee cups – a pioneering paper inspired by the environment, taking disposable paper cups which would otherwise be destined for landfill and recycling and transforming them into beautiful paper to produce sustainable print, helping to make the world a little greener with less landfill waste.

Plastic Free Packaging

We have eliminated the use of plastic packaging and every order that leaves Ashley House is packaged in non-plastic alternatives or biodegradable solutions including 100% recyclable paper tape, corrugated card, recycled envelopes with a cornstarch window, eco-friendly shrink wrap and oxo-degradable pallet wrap. As well as this, we also ask our suppliers about their use of plastic packaging to raise awareness along the supply chain and encourage them to find alternative methods.

Zero Landfill

As an eco-friendly business, it’s important to us that everyone in the Ashley House team is trained in understanding the importance of environmental issues – that’s why we have a Zero Landfill Policy in place. We avoid single-use plastic and aim to recycle and reuse rather than create unnecessary waste, but any waste that is created is always recycled appropriately, including waste paper, ink tins, used printing plates and wooden pallets.
